Taplite
A programmable LED array that shows
different and consistent light
patterns on a tap.
Industry: Consumer Goods
Technology: Microcontroller, Embedded Software
Our team partnered with Taplite to develop an innovative PCB solution that powers the lighting behind beer taps. Leveraging a programmable LED array, we engineered a system that delivers vibrant, customizable, and uniform light displays for each tap. This solution not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of bars and breweries but also elevates the customer experience by making it easier to distinguish between different beer brands, all while ensuring reliability, energy efficiency, and seamless integration with existing tap designs.
Client and Goals
Taplite specializes in providing customized branding solutions for beer brands, focusing on enhancing the visual appeal of taps and point-of-sale products. They offer a variety of products, including tap lenses, taphandles, and bespoke designs, helping breweries and bars showcase their brand identity effectively. With a strong in-house production capability, Taplite ensures high-quality, creative, and tailored solutions for every client.
Challenges
The challenges of this project included ensuring the reliability of the programmable LED array under varying environmental conditions, such as temperature fluctuations and humidity. Optimizing the user interface for controlling light patterns across multiple taps required advanced software development. Seamless integration with existing beer tap setups while maintaining durability and ease of installation presented engineering hurdles. Additionally, achieving consistent, energy-efficient lighting effects that were both visually appealing and functional added another layer of complexity to the project.
